Hand vein treatment
Prominent veins on the back of the hand can be very unsightly, but fortunately are rarely a sign of an underlying problem with the circulation. A number of options are available to treat these veins.
Hand vein surgery and hand vein sclerotherapy physically removes the veins. This approach has the downside of removing health veins that are useful for taking blood or getting drips in a health care setting. Also, tendons on the back of the hands are often still visible.
We now offer a two step process for hand vein removal.
The first stage is to use skin boosters to greatly improve the quality of the skin on the back of the hands. It takes a few months for the results of injections to become fully apparent.
If there are still a few obvious veins when stage is reached, then a small amount of sclerotherapy will often complete treatment and achieve a high quality final cosmetic result.
This treatment is only available at the Fitzwilliam Clinic, Belfast. Please contact the clinic on 028 9032 3888 to arrange an appointment.
